Bios has no sound options other than disabling the sound. Windows is up to date, as well as the drivers. I have updated the audio driver from both of their support pages with no results. Then I have it scan for hardware changes and it works again if I leave the headphones in the port. In order to get them to work, I have to go to device manager, and uninstall the realtek audio under sound, video and game controllers.

If I plug the headphones in later, I cannot get any sound to come out from the headphones, only the internal speaker. If I unplug them I get sound from the internal speaker. My bios shouldn't be an issue, my memory type, etc all those other technical questions the board won t let you submit a question without answering shouldn't be an issue.I have two computers. I do wonder if using those front usb audio cards may have somehow shut them off. Yes I plugged them in right, i built this system and it's worked fine for a couple years. I replaced the front audio jacks with a new front panel one, no effect. Could that have shut off my front audio jacks? Shortly before that i had used a usb sound card in my front usb ports. Suddenly my front audio jacks which had been workign quit working, both of them. Now as to my problem, I have a gigabyte GA-78 lmt usb 3 mobo and it worked fine till recently.

So I wasted a lot of time jumping thru hoops and getting nowhere. Also they asked some technical questions i had no idea how to answer, and i build computers. Their process to even submit a question would have had me shut down my computer, restart in diagnostic mode to check my bios version, and I wans't in the mood to go thru that. I have a poroblem with my mobo and i'm noit pissed due to it, but at how hard gigabyte made it for me to get help. First off I want to say I'm really pissed off right now.
